Dear Girls,

In some ways, Penny is defined by what it is not. There are no diet tips, nor is there any fawning coverage of teeny-bopper celebs (Justin Bieber fans: you might as well give up now). In short, Penny is the antithesis to the shiny, pretty, sweet-smelling teen magazines found on the newsstands today.

From up and coming fashion blogger Audrey Rogers, to jewelry design-duo about to make it big time, Gemma Critchley and Zara Braganca, to 17-year-old singer Alex Roots (whose already toured with the Sugababes, check her out!), each and every girl featured in Penny's first issue has inspired us in some way. Whether it's to take the first step to following our dreams, to learn not to be afraid to be who we are, or that it's possible to overcome even the biggest of obstacles, they have each been hand-picked by Penny for their passion and drive.

Of course, we also talk losing our virginity, our love of R-Patz, explore a London outside of the polished school gates and take a trip to the Old Bailey. Oh, and go on a horrendous first date. Plus, there are plenty of quizzes, DIY guides and real girls most embarrassing stories to keep you entertained throughout even the most boring of lessons. Go wild! Honestly, we want you to rip out, tear, fold, draw and write on this magazine until it falls to shreds.

Full of buzz-worthy personalities and unexpected content, Penny is the little black book of counter-culture for high society's dark horses.

We hope you enjoy our website.

Love,

Here's to being a teenager in London!
